BSc (Hons) in Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying) 1st Class
My name is Mayuran Varatharajan. I successfully completed my BSc (Hons) in Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying) with a 1st Class Honor at BCAS Campus in 2016.
I would like to thank British College for Applied Studies to provide a wonderful educational for the students with less opportunities but who are willing succeed their life.
I joined in the British College for Applied Studies to do my higher studies. I enrolled for the BTEC HND in Quantity Surveying in the year of 2012. BCAS provided me a good knowledge in Quantity Surveying and I started work in the construction industry. I started my career as trainee Quantity Surveyor in Maga Engineering (pvt) Ltd, the largest construction company in Sri Lanka, in the year of 2012 to 2013. Later I completed my HND in BCAS and within a few weeks I got an opportunity to work in Link Engineering (pvt) Ltd.
I was appointed as an assistant Quantity Surveyor for the “Proposed Building for the Ceylon Electricity Board in Grandpass’. Within three months period the management appointed me as Quantity Surveyor for the project. I used my entire knowledge which I gained during my training period and what my lecturers lectured me.
With one year gap period to earn some money, I started my degree program in BCAS in London South Bank University and I successfully completed with a 1st class honor. I started my degree in the year of 2015 and I completed that in the year of 2016. Mean time I was started my career in Lanka Trading and Construction as an assistant Quantity Surveyor in their head office. Due to my performance I was appointed as a Quantity Surveyor. Now I’m still working in Lanka Trading and Construction Co (Pvt) Ltd.
Meanwhile I had an opportunity to be a visiting lecturer for the BCAS. Now I have a permanent job in Lanka Trading and Construction Co (Pvt) Ltd and as a part time I’m working as a visiting lecturer for British College for Applied Studies for the Kandy and Kurunagala Branch.
Without the British College of Applied Studies this won’t happen in my life. The British College for Applied Studies provided me a good knowledge to improve my career and to succeed in my career. Also the lecturers are really helped me during the studies and the other time also.
Once again I’m thanking to British College for Applied Studies to make me as a good citizen and as a professional in this society.
