The first ever Blood Donation Camp of BCAS Campus, Kalmunai, was successfully held at the BCAS’ auditorium on 15th of August, 2018 under the theme of “Donate Blood; Save Lives”.
The event was organized by the Student Council of BCAS Campus, Kalmunai, in association with the Blood Bank of Ashraff Memorial Hospital (AMH), Kalmunai. While the event was presided by the Centre Manager Eng. N.T. Hameed Ali, in his address, expressed that these type of events are part of the organization’s corporate social responsibility and added that BCAS will continuously arrange similar events in future too.
Meantime, on behalf of the Blood Bank, AMH, Dr. A.H.M. Rivzi, Dr. M.J. Azeera, Nurses and other officers attended the event. Dr. A.H.M. Rizvi expressed his gratitude to BCAS for organizing such an event and detailed the importance of voluntary blood donation in a country like Sri Lanka and how blood collected are benefitting the patients at hospitals. About 70 people including Staff, Students and public came forward to donate blood which iterated the aim of inculcating a strong sense of patriotism among all in general and students in particular to build a healthy nation.
Finally, on behalf of the organizing committee, Mr. A.M.M. Rikkas, ELTU Coordinator, proposed vote of thanks to the Management of BCAS Campus, Medical Officers, Other officials of Ashraff Memorial Hospital, Student Council and all those who donated their blood and contributed to make the event more successful.
