In this context, "Desi" refers to the Indian culture, renowned
for its rich traditions, diverse festivals, and vibrant customs.
Embracing the essence of Halloween while adding a Desi twist
brings a unique and colorful dimension to the festivities. It's
an opportunity to blend the spooky fun of Halloween with the
lively and culturally diverse spirit of India, creating an
exciting fusion of traditions and celebrations.
Our "Desi-Themed Halloween" event in November 2023 is designed with the purpose of uniting our diverse student body at BCAS. It's a celebration of the rich tapestry of cultures within our academic community, offering a platform to embrace our differences and find common ground in the spirit of fun and togetherness. The event, set to begin at 4:00 PM on the 4th floor of the BCAS Auditorium, will feature a Haunted House, a Costume Contest, a Treasure Hunt, Face Painting, and a Best Dancers Competition. It's a colorful blend of Halloween's traditional activities with the vibrant and culturally significant elements of Desi culture.
