EOMS Policy

British College of Applied Studies, popularly known as BCAS Campus, has rapidly grown into one of the leading vocational and tertiary education providers in Sri Lanka with a comparatively large student base in the private sector education. We are committed to conducting all teaching activities in a manner that ensures the highest quality and most sophisticated service to our learners. In doing so, we consider and adhere to the requirements of the ISO 21001:2018 international standard, relevant safety requirements, and all applicable learner requirements.

BCAS provides knowledge transfer processes with the required facilities for Certificate, Diploma & HND courses in Computing, Business Management, Hospitality & Tourism Management, Languages & Education, Health & Science, Construction & Built Environment and Law, focusing on student satisfaction and professional skills. The institution continuously considers educational, scientific, and technical developments for curriculum advancement and fulfills its corporate social responsibilities as a reputed educational establishment.

The institution safeguards intellectual property and encourages open communication to enhance workforce knowledge and skills through international exposure.

Disabled Student Policy

BCAS Campus is committed to providing an inclusive learning environment that ensures equal access, non-discrimination, and reasonable accommodations for students with disabilities. The policy covers access to facilities, services, and academic support, maintaining confidentiality and encouraging early disclosure for effective assistance.

Students must provide valid documentation from qualified professionals to access reasonable adjustments. BCAS may also offer financial assistance where applicable.

Health and Safety Policy

BCAS aims to establish and maintain a safe and healthy environment across all campuses. Responsibilities extend to management, staff, and students, covering safe working procedures, emergency response, fire safety, and first aid.

Fire evacuation plans are displayed on each floor, and a designated first-aider is available in the Nursing Lab.

Batch, Program, Branch, and Mode Transfer Policy

This policy ensures secure, transparent, and well-documented procedures for student transfers. It defines batch, program, and branch transfers, detailing penalties, eligibility for exceptional circumstances, and approval workflows.

Automatic transfers may occur for low attendance or poor academic performance. All transfers are recorded and reviewed by authorized academic and finance officers.

Deferment Policy

The Deferment Policy outlines steps for students temporarily withdrawing from studies. Withdrawals must be formally requested via the Registrar's Office, with consultation recommended beforehand.

Temporary withdrawal is allowed for up to six months and may be extended upon written request. Financial obligations remain as per original agreements.

Refund Policy

Refunds are only granted under specific conditions such as university rejections, delays in academic proceedings, or medical inability to continue. Administrative fees apply for certain cases.

Refunds are processed within 4–6 weeks, only in LKR, and proportionate to the remaining course duration. Students must submit an official Refund Request Form for consideration.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Policy

The RPL Policy governs credit recognition for prior learning experiences, ensuring fairness, transparency, and academic integrity. Students can apply with evidence of relevant skills, work experience, or qualifications.

Maximum credits allowed are two-thirds of the total program. Assessment outcomes are communicated within 7 working days, and appeals can be made within 5 days of notification.

Intellectual Property Policy

This policy defines ownership and rights over intellectual property created by BCAS employees. BCAS retains ownership of IP developed during employment or using institutional resources unless otherwise stated in a written agreement.

Employees must disclose created IP, maintain confidentiality, and comply with data protection and post-employment obligations. BCAS commits to recognizing contributors and managing IP ethically.
