Privacy Policy

British College of Applied Studies (BCAS) ensures that personal data is collected and used lawfully, fairly, transparently, and only for legitimate purposes.

Last Updated: June 2026

Purpose of Processing

BCAS collects and uses personal data for clear purposes such as managing admissions and registrations, communicating information about programmes and services, meeting regulatory and accreditation requirements, maintaining records, improving services and conducting approved marketing and outreach activities. Data is not used for purposes unrelated to these objectives.

BCAS does not sell, rent, or share personal data unlawfully. Data may only be shared with authorised staff, partner institutions, regulatory bodies, or third-party service providers when required for legitimate Campus purposes or legal compliance.

Data Collected

BCAS collects personal information voluntarily provided through website forms, including names, email addresses, phone numbers, programme selections, and enquiry details, to respond to enquiries and manage admissions.

When users visit the BCAS website, technical request data may be processed for security and site operation. BCAS also records essential first-party analytics such as visited page, timestamp, referrer/source information with query strings stripped, UTM fields, essential click interactions, and coarse device/browser category for performance and operational reporting.

Essential first-party analytics does not use personal identifiers, advertising IDs, Google Analytics client IDs, visitor IDs, session IDs, raw IP addresses, raw user-agent strings, or browser fingerprinting.

Cookies & Tracking: Essential first-party page/source and click measurement remains active to support site operation and performance reporting. BCAS also uses Google Consent Mode, which may send limited cookieless measurement signals to Google Analytics before optional analytics cookies are accepted. These signals do not allow Google Analytics cookies to be stored or read unless Analytics cookies are accepted.

Google Analytics cookies require Analytics consent. Google Signals, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, Microsoft Clarity, LinkedIn Insight, TikTok Pixel, marketing pixels, remarketing, advertising personalization, and profiling are disabled unless users accept Marketing / Accept All consent.

Data Safeguards

BCAS protects personal data against unauthorised access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. Data is stored securely in electronic and physical formats, access is limited to authorised personnel, and reasonable technical and organisational measures are applied.

Staff members handle personal data responsibly, and any suspected data breach is reported and addressed promptly.

Consent and Opt-Out

BCAS processes personal data based on legal obligations, legitimate interests where appropriate and proportionate, and user consent where required. Users who submit personal data through the website agree that it can be used to respond to enquiries, manage admissions and communicate programme information.

Website forms require confirmation that the user has read and agreed to the BCAS Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions. Promotional communications and use of enquiry information for programme-related advertising or campaign measurement are optional and require a separate, unticked promotional consent checkbox. Users can submit enquiries without promotional consent, and BCAS can still respond to the enquiry.

Users may opt out of marketing communications at any time using the unsubscribe option or by contacting the Campus directly. Users may also object to optional website analytics and withdraw consent for analytics or marketing cookies through the site’s cookie preferences controls. Rejecting optional cookies disables Analytics cookies, marketing, personalization, and preference storage, while essential first-party operational page/source and click measurement remains active and Google Analytics may receive only limited cookieless Consent Mode measurement signals.

Important: Withdrawal of consent does not affect processing already completed but may limit certain services.

Policy Updates

This Privacy Policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in laws, regulations, or institutional practices, and the latest version will always be available through official BCAS channels.
