Programme Overview

Comprehensive introduction to the programme

The BSc (Hons) Computer Science in Network Engineering and Cloud Security is a one-year Level 6 Top-Up programme that enables students to achieve a full UK Honours degree in Computer Science. The programme is awarded by Goldsmiths, University of London and delivered at BCAS Campus, Sri Lanka.

The programme is designed for students who have completed a relevant Level 5 qualification and wish to specialise in network engineering and cloud security. It provides advanced study in network architecture, distributed systems, cloud-computing infrastructure, virtualisation, containerisation, cloud service models, infrastructure automation, and secure systems deployment.

Students will develop the analytical and technical skills required to design, implement, manage, and secure resilient networked and cloud-based environments. A central component of the programme is a 45-credit research-informed individual project, which allows students to investigate complex networking or cloud-security challenges and demonstrate independent research, system design, implementation, evaluation, and professional practice.

The curriculum combines theoretical knowledge with applied laboratory work through network configuration, infrastructure modelling, cloud deployment simulations, monitoring, performance analysis, automation, and scenario-based security assessments.

Applicants must have successfully completed a recognised Level 5 qualification, such as a Higher National Diploma or an equivalent qualification in Computing or a related discipline.
