Comprehensive introduction to the programme
The BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (Top-Up) is designed for students who have completed a relevant Level 5 qualification and wish to progress to the final stage of a UK honours degree. The programme develops advanced knowledge and professional skills in construction economics, cost planning, measurement and quantification, procurement, tendering, contract administration, project cost management, commercial appraisal, sustainability, and whole-life value.
Students gain practical experience through realistic construction scenarios, cost and commercial analysis, professional case studies, Building Information Modelling (BIM), digital measurement, and modern cost-management technologies. The programme also strengthens analytical, research, communication, problem-solving, and professional decision-making skills. Through the Independent Research in Quantity Surveying module, students investigate a contemporary industry issue and complete an academically rigorous dissertation.
