The Professional Diploma in Teaching (Primary) is a Pearson Assured programme that provides students with the skills and knowledge to become a successful teacher. Over 12 months, delivered online and physically at weekends, the programme develops the interpersonal and intrapersonal skills of a teacher, instructional design and lesson planning, effective behaviour management, the use of learning technologies and digital tools, the psychology of the learner, visual communication and creativity, professional ethics and teacher leadership, assessment of learning outcomes, learning through play, and hands-on teaching practice with mentor feedback.

How we assess you: reflective journal, micro teaching, assignments, examinations, report writing and a teaching practicum.

Entry Requirements

Academic prerequisites and admission criteria

  1. Six passes in GCE O/L including simple passes in English and Mathematics (GCE O/L or A/L)

  2. Any other qualification approved by the Senate

Language: proficient English. Selection is via placement test and interview.
