The BSc (Hons) Civil Engineering (Top-Up) is designed for students who have completed a relevant Level 5 qualification and wish to progress to an honours degree. The programme develops advanced knowledge and practical skills in structural analysis, geotechnical and foundation engineering, transportation systems, hydraulic engineering, and interdisciplinary infrastructure design.

Students gain experience in engineering calculations, technical investigations, software-supported modelling, design development, data interpretation, sustainability, climate resilience, health and safety, and professional engineering practice. Through an interdisciplinary group design activity and a 40-credit Individual Research Project, students strengthen their analytical, research, problem-solving, and professional judgement skills. Graduates can pursue careers in civil, structural, geotechnical, transportation, hydraulic, infrastructure, site, and construction engineering, while also progressing to postgraduate study and professional development.
